Houston, we have a problem. We only have 24 hours in the fourth biggest city in the entire USA. How do we navigate the city where Beyonce was born and the official space station is located?! Check out how to explore the big H during your short stay with this nifty itinerary below!

Morning: (8-9:00)

There is no way you can visit Houston without trying the taste-watering food selection this city has to offer. In fact, Washington Post rated Houston as #5 for the best food in the USA. Houston’s cuisine reflects its diverse culture— don’t miss out on the fusion of cultures right on your very own tongue. Texas is particularly known for “Tex-Mex” food- a mix of Texan and Mexican food that will leave you craving more. Get your morning taco fix at the funky grubbery “Tacos A Go Go”. Beware: the title is a little misleading, you will not want to gogo!

Mid Morning: (9-12:00)

After your morning indulgence, you may want to walk a little of the post taco belly off. Visit the Houston Zoo in the morning and say howdy to one of 6,000 animals. This massive zoo has undergone a lot of renovations throughout the years that will leave you mesmerized. From many monkeys to an exotic aquarium, the Houston zoo has a lot to offer especially with it’s continual expansions. Go early before the Houston sun comes out to get you!

Afternoon: (12-17:00)

Once the hot Houston sun has made it’s way, step inside one of the cool air conditioned museums. Houston is filled with world renown, multicultural museums. Whether you like art, history, or science, Houston will have a museum for you to wander through for hours. And special exhibitions are constantly coming to Houston- even the famous Lucy (a 3.2 year old million skeleton) made it’s way to Houston. Click here for a list of Houston museums you can check out!

Alternative Option: Not much of a museum type? Then check out the massive 3 million squared foot Houston galleria. This exquisite shopping center has upscale stores as well as budget- friendly retail shops. After you shop til ya drop, take a fun break by ice-skating in their indoor rink! If you close your eyes, you might forget about the Houston heat outside!

Dinner: (6-8:00)

The Houston dining experience is one of a kind. Both locals and tourists will tell you that you cannot leave H-Town without experiencing “Warehouse 72” or many locals may still refer it to the old name, “Spaghetti Warehouse”. This restaurant focuses on the social atmosphere of eating and southern hospitality. Similarly to the Houston cultural diversity, Warehouse 72 blends two tasteful cultures together through their culinary cuisine— American and Mediterranean. Get your tastebuds satisfied here.

Nighttime: (8-00:00)

Get an authentic Texas nightlife experience by trying out Wild West, in the hip district of Montrose. Put your boots on and Texas two-step the night away! Here, you can meet many locals that love to socialize on what living in Houston is like!
