GO TO MUSEUM DISTRICT

Houston has many famous art, science, and historical museums making it a solo traveler’s paradise. In fact, you can spend an entire day museum hopping and attending galleries. Arguably one of the most underrated parts of Houston by travelers is the theatre and music scene (I mean hellllooooo Beyonce is from here). Houston is constantly holding famous musicals, orchestras, and fun comedy shows. Several smaller and larger theatres are in this district. Do not miss out on attending a show during your H-Town stay. PEOPLE WATCH AT COFFEE SHOPS

Houston has many hip, trendy coffee shops perfect for people watching. Taste a piece of the world at one of the many international styled coffee shops in Houston. Sit down with your cup of joe and soak in the H-Town vibes.

Some local favorites:

  • Common Bond cafe– This European styled cafe is perfect to get your cappuccino and croissant fix. (P.S. the open lighting and the marble tables make it a perfect INSTAGRAMMABLE spot!)
  • Agora Cafe– This famous Houston coffee shop has a greek flare to it and is a favorite for both locals and tourists.
  • Black Hole– Check out this hipster hotspot. This one is near Rice University, so you may see quite a few smarties studying their brains away.

STAY AT A HOSTEL
